How I got into fitness
After my parents got divorced when I was 8 I tried to make myself feel better by eating fast food and escaping the real world with video games. I dove deep into World of Warcraft playing 8+ hours everyday and eating fast food sometimes multiple times a day. My grades were terrible and I was incredibly socially awkward. It wasn't until my senior year of high school I was motivated to lose the weight.
I used a cardio bike everyday and stopped eating fast food. I went from 250 to 155 in about 8 months. I lost interest in video games for a long time and fast food started to taste metallic to me. It wasn't until I was 20 that my brother introduced me to weightlifting, I didn't like it at first but I stuck with it and it was around the time I got to a plate on the bench press (135lbs) that I started to love the journey of it. It felt like I was leveling myself up, instead of a character I created in a fictional world.
Exercise is now a huge part of my life and I look forward to bettering myself everyday. It's a long journey but it is so rewarding.
